Pilgrimage to Burgh Castle and Picnic: Schedule
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
For our annual pilgrimage, we have decided to go to the ruins of Burgh Castle Roman Fortress, Yarmouth, the site where our patron St. Fursey set up his monastery. If you’re interested in reading the life of St. Fursey, just go to Orthodox Mission.
Please find below the full schedule events for our Annual Pilgramage to Burgh Castle On Saturday 18th July 2026.
Note: Timings are approximate. Those who would like to join can do so at anytime.Â
- 9am Pilgrimage prayers at St. Fursey’s Orthodox Church, Yarmouth Road, Stalham, Norfolk, NR12 9PG
- Departure at 9:30am. Do not worry if you don’t have your own transport as those with cars are willing to share.
- Parking at Anglican Church St. Peters 10:15am
- Visit Church
- Walk to Roman Fortress and site of St. Fursey’s Monastery.
- Coffee at 11am.
- Midday service at 12pm
- Lunch at 12:30 – 1pm. Please bring your own food and drink
- Fr. Stephen gives a talk at 1:30pm
- Vespers at 2:30pm
- Depart at 3:30pm
